Overview
This scholarship is provided by the estate of the late John Kable QC, a noted Tasmanian barrister, and was significantly supplemented by Bess Kable.
Eligibility
- Available to a student who will have successfully completed first year of full-time study in 2026 and will be enrolling full-time in second year of the Bachelor of Laws, or a combined degree that includes Bachelor of Laws in 2027 at the University of Tasmania.
- Eligible students must have completed the units International Law, Torts, Foundations of Law, and Legal Reasoning and Technological Change.
- The successful applicant must have completed the majority of their secondary schooling (Years 7 to 12) at a Tasmanian Government (State) school and demonstrate an intention to practise law following completion of their studies.
- Financial need will also be considered as a part of this application.

- Maintain a GPA of 5 or above
