Overview
There has never been a better time for women to take up exciting careers in one of engineering's most challenging and rewarding fields - Maritime Engineering. To increase female participation in maritime engineering programmes, the Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics , Australia's premier maritime engineering facility at the University of Tasmania's specialist institute, the Australian Maritime College (AMC), are offering great scholarships to young women. Areas of specialisation are: Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture.
Eligibility
- Scholarships will be awarded to domestic female students who are commencing study on the Launceston campus in Semester 1, 2027, for any undergraduate maritime engineering courses with specialisations in naval architecture or ocean engineering, who meet the Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking ATAR 70 or above in 2026.
- To be eligible, students must apply for accommodation with University Accommodation Services and cover the application fee and bond (these costs are NOT covered by this scholarship).
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
- Continue full-time study
Amount
Approximately $10,200. The scholarship will cover the first year of on-campus accommodation costs in any UTAS accommodation.
