Overview

This prize has been generously established by Dr Anthony Sprent AM, esteemed alum and Friend of the University, now retired after 35 years of serving as dedicated teaching staff, Head of the School of Surveying, member of the University Council and integral to the establishment of the University’s astronomical observatory.

The purpose of this prize is to provide encouragement to students who have demonstrated innovation and/or outstanding practical and problem-solving skills and commitment to their course.

Eligibility

Awarded annually to a student enrolled in KYA305, KYA306, KYA320, KYA321, KYA 322 or KYA323 who has employed innovative ideas and/or demonstrated outstanding creativity and problem-solving skills, in the areas of practical work and experimental design. The prize need not necessarily be awarded to the student with the best overall results in that year.
